It can make all kinds of complex precision metal parts, realize the integration of structure and function and light weight, and have wide application demand in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics. However, the low forming efficiency and limited forming dimension are the bottlenecks of such technology development. In the past, China has a big gap in the field of SLM technology compared with the international advanced level, and most of its equipment relies on imports.
The laser advanced manufacturing research team, led by Ceng Xiaoyan, Professor of Wuhan photoelectric National Laboratory of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, has made important achievements in many aspects, such as SLM forming theory, technology and equipment through ten years' long-term efforts under the support of the National 863 and the natural science foundation project. In particular, it has broken through the difficulty of SLM forming. To produce large size metal parts and other bottlenecks.
The project took the lead in the international development and development of a large size SLM manufacturing equipment with a large size of 500 * 500 x 530mm3. Previously, the equipment used up to two fiber lasers, forming low efficiency. We have developed a series of SLM series of equipment, and used domestic titanium alloy, stainless steel, high temperature alloy, aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy powder to realize the forming of all kinds of complex precision parts. The key technical indexes are equivalent to the foreign level. For the first time, two-way powder laying technology is introduced in SLM equipment, and its forming efficiency is higher than 20-40% of the same kind of equipment. It indicates that the SLM forming technology and equipment developed by our country have reached the international advanced level. 45 kinds of parts have been used in the development of more than 20 Aerospace models. More than 20 products of more than 20 kinds of products, such as space engines, launch vehicles, satellites and missiles, have been developed, and 5 products have passed the hot test, of which 4 kinds of products have been finalized. Several SLM equipment have been used in the development and production of space parts by the three General Research Institute of space science and technology group. The developed parts not only greatly shorten the development cycle of the products, simplify the process, and more importantly, integrate the structure and function, and get the excellent and lightweight parts.
SLM technology has high precision, good performance and no need for tooling. It is a typical digital process. At present, it is irreplaceable in the forming of complex precision metal parts. It has broad industrial applications in almost all high end manufacturing fields such as precision machinery, energy, electronics, petroleum chemical industry, transportation and transportation.
